If the panels are positioned in an area where it is constantly shaded, you will not generate any electricity. So placing your board on an open space like your boat’s roof is recommended. Also be sure to check that the sails and other parts of the vessel do not cast any shadows on the panel, as it will affect the charging time of the vessel. When it comes to the wire positioning on a solar panel, there are two options series or parallel. Both of these options are known to impacts the wire gauge that is needed. Series circuits utilize thinner cables whereas parallel channels use thicker wires due to their higher voltage generation. Due to the series installation being the cheaper alternative, many companies have designed to work with series circuits. So it is suggested that your wires are arranged in a series pattern to provide the best and safest performance.
